I've always found it easy to hear what great high horn players are supposed to sound like since there are tons of videos and recordings of them. Recently I've been working on low range and I've been curious about what kind of sound a French horn should have down there and what the articulations are like. In this video Sarah Willis, 2nd Horn of the Berliner Philharmoniker, plays an amazing low horn solo that cleared up a lot of questions for me in this range. Enjoy!
