High and Low Horns: Follow-Up

After some talking with people about my article yesterday, High and Low Horns, I discovered I left some very valuable information out of that article.
The pairs of high and low horns tend to act as two duets. This can be seen in some music like Brahms were Horns 1 and 2 are crooked in Bb, and horns 3 and 4 are crooked in F. This way the horn section can form more chords and play a wider variety of melodies in different keys.
Now I bet I'm still missing something interesting on this topic and if you'd like to contribute and voice your opinion either leave a comment with your thoughts, or you can shoot me an email at austinbaugh@gmail.com.
Thanks!
