This is a wonderful duet for flute and horn written by Jan Bach. It was written as a birthday present for a former high school horn student who had just started her freshman year at University of Michigan. Jan also knew that the hornist's roommate was a flutist and made it a nice surprise for both of them.
Each movement is quirky and fun to play, as well as listen to. On this CD all the contraptions are recorded by Jon Boen (horn) and Jean Berkenstock (flute). On a side note, watch out because the first contraption is actually at the end of the last Saxophone Helix -instead of its own track. Besides this there are also a few other great pieces by Jan Bach, including the horn concerto he wrote for Jon Boen.
