There is actually a great webpage designed just for this purpose on hornplayer.net. Once you get to the site you can go to "Section Listings." Here you'll find a ton of ensembles, arranged by by country, the members in these groups, and what horn they're mainly playing on.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating that people go out and buy a certain horn because a professional you like plays on it, because it's really about finding a horn that works for you. It is just interesting to look at what people throughout the world are playing, and what horns are on the rise in the horn community.
